III Festival Internacional de Musica SESC

Currículum

Gabriela Russo

Arpista

Nació en Córdoba, es egresada del Conservatorio Superior de Música “Felíx.T.Garzón” de nuestra ciudad. Tomó clases con destacados arpistas internacionales como Clelia Mertens, Marielle Nordmann, Mario Falcao, Sarah Bullen (Sinfónica de Chicago) etc.

Actuó como solista con diversas orquestas: ”Sinfonietta de París” Francia, Sinfónica Nacional de Lodz Polonia, ”Orpheus” Bulgaria, S.O.D.R.E. Uruguay ”Philomúsica” Paraguay ,Orquesta Sinfónica “Carlos Chávez” Méjico y Filarmónica de Buenos Aires (Teatro Colón), Sinfónica de Córdoba, Rosario, Mar del Plata y Bahía Blanca de Argentina.

En los años ’93,’94 ’95 y ’99 se presentó en París estrenando los conciertos para flauta, arpa y Orquesta de Pierre Wissmer (Francia) y el concierto para violín, arpa y orquesta de cuerdas del compositor argentino Augusto Rattenbach, también dio recitales en Londres, Atenas, Sofía, Praga y Viena, auspiciada por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto y la Fundación Proscenio.

Actuó en el ciclo “Conciertos del Mediodía” en el Teatro “Opera” de Bs. As. , organizado por el Mozarteum Argentino.

Participó en Congresos Mundiales de Arpistas realizados en Dinamarca y Praga.

En el año 1997 estrenó el Concierto para Arpa y Orquesta del compositor argentino Roberto Caamaño ,con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires en el Teatro Colón y en el año 2000 con la Orquesta Sinfónica “Carlos Chávez” de Méjico, en el IV Encuentro Latinoamericano de Arpistas en Méjico.

Realizó las grabaciones de la “Sinfonietta Concertante” para Flauta, Arpa y Orquesta de Pierre Wissmer con la Orquesta de Walbrzych (Polonia) ,y “ A Ceremony of Carols” de Benjamin Britten con el Coro Jóvenes de Santo Tomé ,Santa Fé.

En el año 2002 realizó un concierto en París con la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Lodz, Polonia y participó en la temporada 2003 del Festival du Pays Briard., Francia.

En el año 2011 fue invitada a tocar en el VI Rio de Janeiro Harp Festival (Brasil) , en el que participaron arpistas de todo el mundo.

Desde 1993 desarrolló una intensa actividad en la música de cámara junto a la Flautista Lorena Barile realizando conciertos por nuestro país y el exterior; entre ellos , París, Nueva York, auspiciada por “The Americas Society” y el Instituto Italiano de Cultura .

Fue invitada a participar en el Conjunto Pro Música de Rosario que dirige el Maestro Cristián Hernández Larguía con el que realizó numerosas giras y grabaciones.

Acaba de realizar el estreno mundial del Concierto para Arpa y Orquesta de Vientos del compositor colombiano Pedro Sarmiento, dirigida por el Maestro Laszlo Marosi junto a la Banda Sinfónica de Córdoba Argentina.

Ha sido invitada a ser parte del staff de profesores del III Festival Internacional SESC de Música de Pelotas ,Brasil en 2013.

Integró la Orquesta del S.O.D.R.E. Montevideo (Uruguay), la Orquesta Sinfónica de Rosario y actualmente es Solista de Arpa de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba y Profesora de arpa del Conservatorio Superior “Félix T. Garzón” de la misma ciudad.-

Harpist

Argentinian harpist. She was born in Córdoba, Argentina. She attended the Provincial Conservatory of Music "Félix T. Garzón" where she did her first studies of harp and was graduated as Professor with an honor medal for the best qualifications.

She attended the courses given by the soloist Clelia Mertens (Argentina), Marielle Nordmann (France), Mario Falcao (Portugal-U.S.A.) and Sarah Bullen (Chicago Symphonic Orchestra).

She performed as soloist with the conductors Dominique Fanal, Jean Claude Vincent (France), Raitscho Christov (Bulgaria), Ronen Nissan (Austria), José Lobo (Portugal) R. Montenegro (Uruguay), Luis Szarán (Paraguay),Felipe Izcaray (Venezuela),Hadrian Avila Arzuza (Colombia), Jesús Medina (México), J.C. Zorzi, R. Túbaro, C. Hernández Larguía, H. Dielh, D. Shapiro, G. Senanes, Bruno D'Astoli, and R. Fabbroni (Argentina), and with the "Sinfonietta de Paris" Orchestra (France), "Orpheus" Orchestra (Bulgaria), S.O.D.R.E. (Uruguay), Philomúsica of Asunción (Paraguay),Orquesta Sinfónica “Carlos Chávez”

(México) Buenos Aires Philarmonic Orchestra, Town hall Chamber Orchestra of Córdoba and Rosario ,Provincial Symphonic Orchestra of Rosario, Cordoba and Mar del Plata Symphonic Orchestra, and ProMusica Ensemble Rosario (Argentina).

From 1993 to 1995 she gave concerts in Europe, in Paris playing Wissmer's concert (first audition)with "Sinfonietta de Paris" Orchestra, conducted by Dominique Fanal, London,Copenhagen(Fifth World Harp Congress), Athens, Sophia,Prague and Vienna, patronized by the Proscenio Foundation and the Foreign Affairs and Cult Ministry of Argentina). In 1994, patronized by the "Argentinian Mozarteum", she gave a concert at the "Opera Theatre" Buenos Aires and "Héctor I. Astengo" Theatre with Lorena Barile (flutist).

She was called to participate in two Compact discs.On the first C.D. recorded in homage to the composer Héctor Tósar (Uruguay), was conducted by N.Rauss (Swiss), on the second C.D. she played “Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten .In 1997 she recorded a C.D. with the National Polish State of Walbrzych (Polland) the Wissmer's "Sinfonietta Concertante" for flute, harp and Orchestra, conducted by Dominique Fanal, in the same tour she played for the first time a concert for violin, harp and Orch. by Augusto Rattenbach (Argentina) in Paris with D. Fanal and his Orchestra.

She performed at "Colon Theatre" with Buenos Aires Philarmonic Orchestra in first audition the concert for harp and orchestra by Roberto Caamaño (Argentina) in 1997.

In 1999 she performed in the Madeleine Church, Paris, W.A. Mozart’s Concert for flute, harp and orchestra accompanied by Gaspar Hoyos (Colombia), flutist winner of the J.P. Rampal 1^st Prize in 1998,and under the direction of the Portuguese Jose Lobo. She also played in the 7^th World Harp Congress which took place in Praga where she gave a first performance of Alberto Ginastera’s “Cantos del Tucumán”, together with the Argentinian mezzo-soprano Graciela Mozzoni, and well-known musicians of the Czech Philarmonic Orchestra.

The same year she was invited to play G.F. Haendel’s concert at the “Festival du Pays Briard”, France.

During the year 2000 she performed Roberto Caamaño’s Concert Op.31 for harp and orchestra for first time with the Symphonic Orchestra “Carlos Chavez” in Mexico, under the direction of master Jesús Medina in closing ceremony of the Fourth Latinoamerican Meeting of Harpists that took place in Mexico city from the 14^th to the 21th of May.

In 2002 she played in Paris the “Sinfonietta Concertante” by P. Wissmer with the National Symphonic Orchestra of Lodz Poland.

In 2003 she has two performances ,in New York with flute in “The Americas Society” and in Paris in the “Festival du Pays Briard”.

Since 1993 she carries out an intense activity in chamber music accompanied by the flutist Lorena Barile throughout our country and abroad, Sequenza Trio with Silvina López flute & viola Juliana Rufail, and is member at the Cordoba Chamber Ensemble conducted by Isaac Tamir.

In 2011 she was invited to participate at the Rio de Janeiro’s IV Harp Festival (Brazil), where harpists from all over the world participated.

She had just played the World Premiere Concert of Pedro Sarmiento (Colombia) for Harp and Wind Orchestra conducted by Master Laszlo Marosi (Hungary) with the Cordoba’s Winds Orchestra.

She has been invited to participate as part of the staff of the III International’s SESC Music Festival in Pelotas, Brazil.

During the seasons of 1991 and 1992 Gabriela Russo took part in the S.O.D.R.E. Orchestra of Montevideo, (Uruguay), Symphonic Orchestra of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, and nowadays she is the Solo Harpist in the Córdoba Symphonic Orchestra.

Gabriela Russo has been appointed Harp Professor in Córdoba Music School "Felix T. Garzon" (Argentina) as of March 2005.
